Theater Thursday

If you've been around these parts for awhile, then you already know that Thursday is dedicated to Theater Thursday! Each week I pick one movie that I find entertaining and feature it. The only rule is that it must be something out on dvd... that way everyone can be able to watch it!
This week's featured movie is Romancing the Stone
Romancing the Stone follows Joan Wilder (Kathleen Turner), a romance novelist set on getting to Cartagena in South America for her sister. She was a sent a treasure map by her brother in law right before he was murdered and now her sister is being held prisoner until she gets to Columbia with the map.

Along the way she mistakenly gets on the wrong bus and is also being followed by another person looking to get the map before it makes it to the man holding Joan's sister, Elaine. However, Joan (Wilder) meets an american man named Jack Colton (Michael Douglas) who she pays to guide her through the jungle.
If you've never seen Romancing the Stone, you should go out and get it now. It's definitely a classic 1980's movie and worth the watch! If you like it, make sure to check out the sequel The Jewel of the Nile

I love your Theater Thursday posts! I've never seen this movie but it sounds great - I'm adding it to my "look for in the library" list.
