1st Awkward Moment of 2010

If I could have named this post: the most uncomfortable, awkward, vomit inducing moment ever then I think it would have fit perfectly. Seeing as how I thought that was too long, I went with awkward moment lol.
Remember last month when I mentioned there was a possibility of running into someone I wasn't for sure I wanted to see nor would he want to see me? If not here's the back story post

Guess what happened today? Oh... that's right! I'm sure you guessed it. We walked straight into  each other. Two words can describe it:  Awkward and Uncomfortable. And of course, it would be on his last day in town. We couldn't make it one more day?!?

At first I didn't even see him and then I saw him. Looking as nice as ever (of course). He had no where else to go but to walk forward. I had to talk to him. I couldn't pretend I didn't see him....I was working. I said the bare minimum. I smiled and I'm pretty for sure I even told him "Have fun" as he walked away. But here's what gets me... He's one of those people who can make my stomach go instantly into knots. Make my face feel flushed and a wave of nausea come over me. Maybe it's the situation? It would probably happen with anyone in the same place.

I do feel I was a good person. Considering how I was treated in a previous situation with him, I did nothing today but smile, be polite and wish him well. I'll continue to wish him well as I always have, even when he hurt my heart. I don't know what it is but I find myself wanting to be his friend. I know it'll never happen but for some unknown reason I just want him to know that I'd help him or be there for him if he ever needed it. I guess even though less than nice words were said, and bad behaviors were had, I guess I'll always wish for the best. Maybe one day in the future he'll think those same thoughts and get ahold of me. If not....well, I'm not holding my breath.

YIKES, I am sorry you had to run into him! Maybe one day you two can be friends, if that is what YOU want. But don't let him get the best of you!

I dated a guy in college that broke my heart. It took me a few yrs to want to be friends. Then even after everytime i saw him my heart would twist and my knees would shake. Not until I was truly into someone else would I not care. Its hard, but Im glad you handled things in a classy and mature manner... stay strong, let me know if you need anything!!! xxxooo

You handled it quite well. :) I'm sorry though you had to see him again. :( Now, just forget about it and move on, and be happier and all that. :) You deserve that!!!

Sometimes relationships just have to be let go and move on. I'm experiencing that with a girlfriend now. Through now fault of my own, I got thrown in the "bad guy" group....she and her husband are separating and having issues.

We were (or so I thought) good friends. Guess not. So, I'm moving on and wishing her the best. that's all I can do.

Let's call it the awkward moment of 2010. At least it is over and done with.

Maybe this will be the ONLY awkward moment of 2010 and you'll be able to go the rest of the year without one!!

aw, I'm so sorry! I hate those awkward moments and when you have been dreading it and praying to avoid it, it just seems a million times worse. Cheers to handling the situation well on the outside when you were nauseous on the inside. ;o)

Well you handled it better than I probably would've! If it was someone who had broken my heart he'd have gotten a big "F You!"

And guess what.. you didn't die, right? It was hard, but now you might not have the same kind of anxious feelings the next time you know he's in town. It happened, you survived and did it with grace.

For whatever reason I NEVER run into exs. Thank goodness.
