Theater Thursday

This weeks Theater Thursday featured movie is When Harry Met Sally.

With New Years Eve swiftly approaching, I instantly thought of When Harry Met Sally when trying to decide what movie to feature this week.

Maybe it's their friendship love affair or maybe it's the fact that the timeline of the movie spans over years but I love how it evolves and we get to see their lives. Harry (Billy Crystal) and Sally (Meg Ryan) begin their lives in NYC by traveling there together as complete strangers. Once they arrive in the city they go their separate ways only to reunite later in life.

Once they come into each other's lives they un-expectantly become friends and start to mold around each other. When an unexpected event takes place it make them wonder if they're anything more than friends. If you've never seen this classic, then you must!

I love that you get cold when it's 71 degrees out. I love that it takes you an hour and a half to order a sandwich. I love that you get a little crinkle above your nose when you're looking at me like I'm nuts. I love that after I spend the day with you, I can still smell your perfume on my clothes. And I love that you are the last person I want to talk to before I go to sleep at night. And it's not because I'm lonely, and it's not because it's New Year's Eve. I came here tonight because when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible.

And yes, I wrote that from memory! I adore this movie!

You're right When Harry Met Sally is a classic and I always watch it around this time of year.
Meg Ryan was amazing and her movies will always have a special place in my heart.
I like the idea of your Theatre Thursday and I think I'll join in the fun.

Ha! We're so in sync. After work today, on my drive home, I was talking to myself "I wanna watch a movie about NYE. What has NYE in it? When Harry Met Sally!" I considered swinging by a movie store to buy it, remembered I already owned it, so I took myself to the MAC counter to congratulate myself on saving myself money. ;) Don't tell Chad!
