Theater Thursday

It's Thursday and that can only mean one thing... It's Theater Thursday! This week's featured movie is, Guardians of the Galaxy.

I'm not one for talking about new movies that are currently in the theater but this one was pretty funny and worth talking about. Guardians of the Galaxy is based off the Marvel comic book that has been long with standing. It follows Earth born adventurer Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) who's out to score big with his next find. He stumbles upon an artifact that is worth more than he realized and also brings him a huge amount of trouble. Before he realizes that the artifact he's stolen is worth more than money he meets Gamora (Zoe Saldana). She's been sent to recover the item.

Peter would never have suspected it but he's helped out by a genetically engineered raccoon and a tree named Groot. Those two help him away from Gamora but they all find themselves trapped by the police and on their way to prison. From there they'll meet new people and find themselves in situations they've never had to try to get out of before. One thing that will help them survive other perils in the universe is each other and sticking together. I don't want to give too much away.

I had never read the comic book. I didn't really know what to expect from this movie because I hadn't seen too many previews either. I thought the movie was really entertaining and even funny in places. Don't worry if you've never read the comic you'll know what's going on in the movie. So go watch it!

I really liked it! I wasn't familiar with the comic but I thought it was funny and pretty touching.
